DESCRIPTION:Date & Time \n\n\n\nWednesday\, October 21\, 20268:00 AM – 5:00 PM  \n\n\n\nLocation \n\n\n\nGFC-MSU\, Great Falls  \n\n\n\nDescription \n\n\n\nMental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that equips participants with the skills to identify\, understand\, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow to identify\, understand\, and respond to a mental health or substance use challenge.\n\n\n\nThe risk factors and warning signs associated with anxiety\, depression\, bipolar disorder\, substance use disorder\, schizophrenia\, and other mental health conditions.\n\n\n\nThe ALGEE 5-step action plan for supporting someone who may be developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis and connecting them with appropriate services. \n\n\n\n\nFacilitator \n\n\n\nJerry Girard\, LCPC\, LACDirector of Student Health Services\, MSU-Billings  \n\n\n\nAdditional Information \n\n\n\nThis certified training is offered as part of the 2026 MUS Mental Health & Wellbeing Summit: Building Cultures of Care. Registration is free\, but seating is limited.
