Over the years, Jessica has traveled the world performing with orchestras, ensembles, and other projects, touching the hearts of all whom she meets. Jessica has a strong connection to music and the art of teaching. Violin/Viola
With its deep resonance and expressive sound, the Violin and Viola have been deemed a family of the most captivating and beautiful instruments in modern day. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Jessica has inspired many to learn these instruments. Teaching both beginners to advanced, young to old, Jessica will help you develop your technique, tone, and music theory skills to a professional level. Learn how to use shifting, vibrato, and spiccato, as well as develop artistry, musical expression, and other advanced techniques. Lessons will focuses on playing through proper technique, practice techniques, and stylistic performance practice. Jessica fills her lessons with an energetic, patient, and creative approach. You will leave with a smile on your face from every single lesson.
Piano
As a seasoned 25+ year pianist - Jessica has a deep wealth of knowledge and skill when it comes to the piano. Jessica inspires students to love the piano by teaching them to play both Classical and popular pop/folk songs while implementing basic concepts and skills like finger placement, scales, pedaling, key differentiation and rhythm. Students typically begin by learning fundamental repertoire and expand to supplemental styles based on their abilities and interests, including musical theatre, contemporary/popular, jazz, folk, and movie music. Jessica strive’s to ensure that her piano students acquire the fundamentals necessary to become literate musicians, so music reading/writing skills and relevant music theory are always incorporated. With a bright smile, Jessica will awake the music inside your bones!
Voice
As the daughter of an esteemed Music Director, Choral Director, and Pianist, Jessica’s life was filled with singing! Jessica will guide beginner singers through the early stages of vocal progression, assisting with pitch training, developing timbre and keeping steady tempo. From classical to pop, country to rock, Jessica can bring out your unique voice and articulate the best possible techniques for your individual voice and style! Jessica focuses on the importance of healthy vocal technique without compromising artistic preference. She gives students the proper tools they need to stylize and increase their vocal range and capacity. She helps singers explore the unique character of their voice. Lessons incorporate world class vocal technique, repertoire, musicianship, sight singing, rhythmic dictation, ear training, and keyboard skills.
